Pineapple Cake
2 cups flour
1 ½ cups sugar
1 ½ cans (450 g) crushed pineapple, undrained
2 tsp. baking soda
pinch salt
Mix together and bake in greased 9x13” pan for 25 minutes at 350 F.

Stir together in pan; bring to boil; pour over hot cake:
½ cup butter
¾ cup evaporated milk or cream
¾ cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

The recipe did not say to poke the cake, but I did; to let the sauce soak in.
(A similar recipe from the internet added 1 cup shredded coconut to the sauce, making it even more tropical.) If this turns out too gooey, then add (up to one cup) more flour to the cake.
